Following a live pitch on 30th January 2020 at Verizon’s office in central London for Unloc’s Enterprise Challenge, Occumi received the Highly Commended award and a scholarship to 2020’s One Young World Summit for young leaders.
Five finalists for the competition were selected from an incredibly competitive field of young entrepreneurs, aged 16-25 and representing 18 European countries. The finalists presented their concepts to the judging panel at the London Grand Final and were reviewed against the competition criteria of viability, technology innovation, and sustainability.
Occumi co-founder Josh Clarke pitched at the event and eventually received the Highly Commended award in a highly competitive contest.
“Not only was Occumi recognised amongst some of the best businesses in Europe tackling social issues, but we were also awarded the Highly Commended Award and a Scholarship to this year’s One Young World Summit for young leaders.
This award shows the weight that our approach to transferable skills can have on large scale issues such as social mobility. Following this award we will continue to further develop our platform to ensure that no student gets left behind.” – Josh Clarke
